CHURCH SERVICES
Various visiting church groups attend Kooralbyn Retirement Lodge. Salvation Army visit once a week for those who wish to see them. Catholic Church give Holy Communion for those who are unable to attend the church.

CLEANING
Facility is cleaned daily by staff, residents rooms are vacuumed, beds made, toilets and bathrooms cleaned daily or as needed. Residents are asked to keep their rooms tidy.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
Small amounts of petty cash only can be managed at Kooralbyn Retirement Lodge. If financial management is difficult it is suggested that you ask a relative or friend to be your Power of Attorney or an application can be made to Victorian Civil & Administration Tribunal for an administrator.

HEALTH & WELLBEING
Local doctors will visit facility on request. Local pharmacies deliver medications weekly and on request. Residents have the right to choose their own health carers. Other services available as needed i.e. district nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, massage are available at residents own cost. All staff are qualified in emergency first aid.

HEATING/COOLING
Central heating and reverse cycle air conditioners. No other heating devices are permitted eg: fan heaters, electric blankets.

LINEN/PERSONAL WASHING
Fresh linen & towels are supplied. Bed changes occur weekly or more often if needed. Staff will make beds. Residents can make own beds if they desire. Personal washing is done on site. Personal clothing is to be appropriately labelled.

MEALS
Nutritional home cooked meals are provided. All dietary needs are catered for. All meals are served in the dining rooms. Meal times are:
Breakfast 8.00am (Morning Tea 10.00am)
Lunch 12.00pm (Afternoon Tea 3.00pm)
Dinner 5.00pm (Supper 7.30pm)
No perishable foods are to be kept in bedrooms.

MEDICATIONS
Medications are prescribed by your Medical Practitioner and packed in a sachet system or Webster pack by the pharmacy and delivered to Kooralbyn Retirement Lodge. Staff are responsible for medication administration and signing medication charts. Residents are responsible for payment of their pharmacy account.

PERSONAL CARE ASSISTANCE
Assistance with showering, dressing, shaving, oral, hair & incontinence aids (incontinence aids to be provided by resident). Fingernail care provided. Podiatrist provides toenail care 6 weekly at residents own cost. Toiletries are to be provided by resident. A hairdresser comes to Kooralbyn Retirement Lodge fortnightly or on request.

PERSONAL ITEMS NOT INCLUDED IN FEES
Hairdressing, podiatry, mobility aids, taxi, bus, telephone calls, pharmacy/ medications, clothing, incontinence aids or ancillary services.

RADIO/TV’s
Residents are to provide own TV’s for their rooms. There is a TV in lounge room, with selection of movie dvd available for all to use. Headphones are to be used after 8pm as a courtesy to other residents.

SUPPORT PLANS
A regulatory requirement of the Department of Human Services is for a Supported Residential Services Care Plan to gather initial information about residents needs such as; personal & special care needs, mobility, disabilities, or any other care needs required. This information is used to develop a support plan to meet the needs of the individual. Information gathered from resident/relatives or other service providers is used to develop ongoing needs care plan. All care planning is done in consultation with resident and or their nominated person. The Proprietor/Personal Care Coordinator is responsible for these support plans.

TELEPHONE
A telephone is available for private calls and staff will arrange dialing.

TRANSPORT
Kooralbyn Retirement Lodge does not provide transport. Taxis are readily available and residents can apply for a Taxi concession card through their Doctor.
